Tigardians of the Galaxy appear at "State of the City"

JohnCookSOC   Tigard's communication staff, along with TVCTV, took Mayor John Cook's "State of the City" address to another dimension this week.
The Mayor and other city volunteers debuted in a video entitled "Tigardians of the Galaxy."
In this playful video, viewers hear the story of Tigard's 2016 and see the vision of its future.
The main themes are around the city's budget, planning, volunteerism, citizen involvement, and parks and recreation.
It also touches on the Tigard-Lake Oswego Water Partnership - the largest public works project in the City's history; the opportunity to improve Tigard's business climate through grants it's being awarded; the progress being made with people moving into the River Terrace community; and a call to action on how citizens can get involved.
Tigard just announced this week that Metro's Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Transportation (JPACT) will be awarding the city $1.7 million to fund the second phase of the Hunziker infrastructure project.
