Beaverton, Portland Rose Festival team up on half-marathon
BeavertonHalf MarathonAnnouncement The City of Beaverton, the Beaverton School District, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, and the Portland Rose Festival announced a new partnership event this week.
On May 28, which is during Memorial Day weekend, the groups will team up to host the Portland Rose Festival Half-Marathon in Beaverton.
"The spirit of partnership we have in Beaverton is unbeatable," said Mayor Doyle, "and it's because we work so well together sharing our resources and locations that we can pull this off."
Race officials are working with the Beaverton Police Department to map out the course of the race, but it will start at Southridge High School with support from nearby Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center.
This half-marathon is a continuation of the Portland Rose Festival's race, previously known as the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.
   Registration begins January 17.
