Health care leaders & others gather to dedicate new center
Partners from Legacy Health, Kaiser Permanente, OHSU, and others joined forces this week to celebrate the opening of the new Unity Center for Behavioral Health.
The new center will provide emergency care for those having a mental health crisis.
It will allow mental health patients to be evaluated in a more timely manner than they would be in a traditional ER, and it will provide patients with a treatment plan to utilize once they leave the center.
The new facility also includes 80 adult patient beds, 22 adolescent patient beds, eight "calming rooms," a pharmacy, a chapel, a garden, and a café for visitors and staff.
Representatives from community behavioral health organizations will also be on-site to help coordinate continued support for patients after they are discharged.
