Construction is Oregon's top industry right now

Roofingworkers   According to the Oregon Employment Department the construction industry has added about 16,000 jobs in the last two years.
This is a 20 percent increase, making it Oregon's fastest growing industry sector.
Overall, the construction industry accounts for around 5 percent of all non-farm jobs in Oregon, but it translates into 17 percent of all the non-farm jobs added in the state for the past two years.
The construction industry has seen a labor shortage in recent years due to people leaving it during the recession.

Employers in the industry said almost 90 percent of the job vacancies have been difficult to fill.
