Bonamici & Schrader address WEA forum guests
At October's Breakfast Forum, Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici and Congressman Kurt Schrader provided insight into what is happening in Washington, D.C. right now.
Schrader said despite what the public may see in the media, congressional representatives, such as himself and Bonamici, are working hard to try to get things done.
The two touched on health care, immigration, trade, climate change, transportation, education, governance, and other issues during the event.
From the conversation, it was obvious there is some frustration in how the system is currently working, but the two representatives are optimistic changes will be coming soon.
Bonamici talked about changes in rules and practices that will prevent situations where one representative can block a bill from coming to the House floor for discussion and letting democracy work.
