Leaders say they're united when it comes to transportation

Freeway traffic at I5 217 junction   Westside leaders joined others from around the Portland region in releasing a shared statement this week, concerning support for legislative action in transportation.
The letter reminisces about days of less congestion and more reliability time-wise in the region.
It also paints a picture of what the choices are in addressing the state's transportation woes.
"We want to let it be known: We are united and ready to move forward.  We support our lawmakers working on a statewide transportation package that makes strategic investments that keep people safe and serve our communities. By taking this action together, we succeed together," the partners said in the statement.
