Portland region moves to the top in business & career ranking
Portland tops Forbes Best Places for Business and Career.
The Forbes report ranking just released states, "The influx of educated young adults has been a boon to the $157 billion economy, with household incomes up 4% annually since 2011 and unemployment falling below 4% from a peak of 11.3% in 2009. Portland now has the ninth-highest concentration of highly educated millennials based on data from Experian."
Out of 14 criteria, the Portland area ranked high in 12.
The two it didn't score high in were business and living costs.
Forbes said Portland still benefits from lower costs than the Bay Area when comparing the two high tech regions.
