King City's inaugural "State of the City" address

Mayor Ken Gibson   Mayor Ken Gibson of King City gave his "State of the City" address in January.
Gibson touched on issues such as budget, infrastructure, and the change in police leadership.
The Mayor said KIng City has one of the lowest tax rates in the region and is also one of the select few cities to be entirely debt free.
Recently, the city has received grant and Federal Enhancement funding to help resurface some of its streets and to complete sidewalks.
King City originally started out as a retirement community, but it has since expanded to include people of all ages and is looking to grow even more in the near future.
The city has little to no buildable land left within its urban growth boundary, so it will be looking to expand Its boundary for the first time in nearly 20 years.
"We want to contribute to the housing needs of our community, and we want to contribute to the economic needs of our region," Gibson said. "We have to make decisions that benefit the greater good."
