Construction predicted to be a big job builder moving forward
According to a report in the Portland Business Journal, construction is the second industry to have the most projected growth over the next nine years - health care is the first.
Construction is expected to grow its workforce 17.5 percent by 2027.
In 2017, the average annual wage in construction was $58,000, according to the report.
Many construction firms are having trouble filling positions and are increasing pay and benefits to attract more workers.
