Beaverton breaks ground on new Public Safety Center

Ground Breaking Beaverton Safety Center   Leaders and residents from around the Beaverton area gathered this week to celebrate the ground breaking of a new Public Safety Center.
The new 74,000 square-foot facility will be located at Hall and Allen Boulevard, and it will be home to the Beaverton Police and the city's Office of Emergency Management.
Mayor Denny Doyle told the crowd the police department moved into the former City Hall on Griffith Drive on a "temporary basis" 35 years ago.
The new Beaverton Public Safety Center is expected to be completed in early 2020.
