SW Corridor decisions on the move

SW Corridor Preferred Alternative Alignment   The SW Corridor Light Rail project passed a couple of critical milestones recently, as the City of Tigard endorsed the project's Preferred Alternative Alignment, and Metro adopted it.
WEA testified in front of both councils in support of the light rail project, which is planned to travel from Southwest Portland down to Bridgeport Village at the north edge of Tualatin.
Metro's approval will also result in the project being added to the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).
The project is only 5 percent engineered at this point, so there is still plenty of work to be done.
New community advisory and steering committees will start meeting early next year to help guide the advanced design and engineering process.
