WEA Welcomes Elizabeth Mazzara Myers As New Executive Director
The Westside Economic Alliance has selected Elizabeth Mazzara Myers as its new executive director.
WEA Board President Randy Ealy said, “We are excited about this next chapter for WEA. Elizabeth’s deep experience bodes well for leading the organization, continuing our mission as a convener and a respected voice for business.”
Mazzara Myers brings more than 15 years of public policy and political experience in Oregon. She has worked at senior staff levels in both Multnomah and Washington counties. She brings strong leadership skills and a unique understanding of the region's economic and political landscape to the organization.
Her priorities include growing the organization’s membership to assure that it continues to reflect the rich diversity of the Westside.
"As a region, we must drive economic growth through targeted investments that center equity. The first step on that path is ensuring our regional economic development association reflects the community we intend to serve," said Mazzara Myers.
Marcus Mundy, executive director of the Coalition of Communities of Color said, "Elizabeth brings deep and authentic connections to the community. She brings on-the-ground experience ensuring those often left behind are at the table - and their voices heard. She can help build the long-term relationships between elected leaders, businesses, and the community that will help connect people, places, and small-and mid-size businesses to economic opportunity."
Tigard Mayor Jason Snider added, "Elizabeth is solution oriented. I worked with her during the early days of COVID and saw her deftly navigate complicated federal funding programs and facilitate conversations with the Washington County mayors. I look forward to her bringing her collaborative leadership style to WEA.”
