Transportation Committee hears how things are rolling on tolling

Truck Traffic I5 North   At it meeting in February, WEA's Transportation Committee heard from the Oregon Department of Transportation's (ODOT) Mandy Putney and Hannah Williams.
Putney said ODOT is looking at possible tolling of I-5 from Multnomah Boulevard to N. Going Street and I-205 around the Abernethy Bridge.
ODOT recently hired Lucinda Broussard as its tolling manager.
She most recently worked in Atlanta, but has also worked for Washington's Department of Transportation.
The tolling project is currently working with stakeholders and technical working groups; convening the Equity and Mobility Advisory Committee (EMAC); and beginning the environmental review for I-205.
Putney said under the tolling project, I-205 would see improvements to the Abernethy Bridge and to capacity, but I-5 would not.
The overall goal of the project is to improve mobility for the region.
