ODOT collects value pricing feedback
The Oregon Department of Transportation has been discussing "value pricing" or "congestion pricing," since HB 2017 (the transportation package) passed in the legislature last year.
WEA's Executive Director Pam Treece has been on the Value Pricing Committee that is advising and providing feedback to ODOT.
The idea behind "value pricing" is to help manage congestion by charging a toll during peak hours of use; therefore, discouraging use from those who don't need to be on the freeway during those times.
Value Pricing Committee members are looking at five possible scenarios that affect I-5 and I-205.
ODOT will be hosting a series of open houses to get public feedback.
There is also an online open house available.
