Willow Creek Crossing about to become a reality

Dirt flying websized   Community leaders gathered just inside the Hillsboro city limits this week to celebrate the ground breaking of the Willow Creek Crossing Apartments.
This project will bring 120 affordable homes to the area with 2,500 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor.
It's also a partnership between Washington County and DBG Properties.
Other organizations supporting the project are the Community Housing Fund, the City of Hillsboro, Key Bank, Metro, Meyer Memorial Trust, Oregon Housing & Community Services, Umpqua Bank, and U.S. Bank.
The construction phase of the project is also expected to create approximately 150 living-wage jobs.

"With one out of four households in Washington County earning less than $35,000 a year, the current supply of regulated affordable housing falls far short of the need," said Andy Duyck, Chair of the Washington County Board of Commissioners. "This one project will not solve the issue for us but once again, the strength of our partnerships is on full display with this well-planned effort to move the needle in the right direction."
The homes are expected to be completed in late 2019.
