Nike's "Just Do It" Day brings announcement
It was "Just Do It" Day across the globe for Nike employees yesterday, and the company celebrated by announcing the name of one of its newest buildings on its World Headquarters.
The LeBron James Building, named after the two-time Olympic gold medalist, three-time NBA champion, and four-time NBA MVP, is the sixth newest building at the Nike World Headquarters.
James said, "It's been an honor to be a part of such a great company for the last 18 years. And to know that a building with my name will reside on campus, it's truly an honor, and I feel truly special."
The new building will be home to Nike's Beaverton-based Advanced Innovation team - scientists, designers, engineers and others, who collectively focus on inventing the products and services that make all athletes better.
It will also house a state-of-the-art Sport Research Lab, a full NBA-size basketball court, a 200-meter endurance track, a 100-meter straightaway, and an artificial turf training pitch.
The building will also sport concrete with a waffle pattern, commemorating Nike's early innovation days.
