Lacey Beaty | City of Beaverton
Mayor Lacey Beaty is a dynamic leader with a deep commitment to public service, equity, and community building. Elected as the first female mayor of Beaverton in 2020, she has since made significant strides in improving housing affordability, enhancing veterans’ services, and creating a more bikeable and walkable city. A U.S. Army veteran who served in the Iraq War, Mayor Beaty has used her platform to advocate strongly for veteran causes at both the state and national levels. Her leadership was crucial in the passage of Oregon’s HB 2295, which prioritizes veteran-owned businesses in state contracting, and her advocacy led to impactful changes in HUD rules regarding housing vouchers for veterans.
Mayor Beaty’s vision for Beaverton includes a community where families of all backgrounds can thrive. She has championed policies that focus on housing, sustainability, and accessibility, ensuring that Beaverton remains affordable and inclusive for all residents. Her work has earned her a place on the Advisory Board of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, further elevating her role in shaping national policy discussions.
In addition to her leadership on city issues, Mayor Beaty’s personal journey from veteran to public servant demonstrates her unwavering commitment to service. She continues to engage with the community on key initiatives, from expanding affordable housing options, to ensuring that people struggling with homelessness can live a life of dignity. She is a tireless advocate for Beaverton and has helped bring millions in State and Federal funding into the City.

Frank Bubenik | City of Tualatin
Mayor Bubenik was elected to the Tualatin City Council in November of 2010 and re-elected in November 2014. He was elected mayor in 2018, taking office in January 2019. Frank was re-elected mayor in 2022.
He currently serves on the Washington County Coordinating Committee (Chair), R1 ACT, Tualatin Aging Task Force, and Metropolitan Mayors’ Consortium, Small Cities Consortium of Greater Portland Inc (Chair). Frank is a board member of the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce, Westside Economic Alliance, and Neighbors Nourishing Communities.
Jef Dalin | City of Cornelius
Mayor Dalin was first appointed to the position in 2011. He has held that seat ever since.
He says, “My goal is to leave things better than I found them. To that end, I enjoy working with people to analyze and solve problems. Be it in my professional life as an engineer or my personal life as mayor of my community.”
Yi-Kang Hu | City of Tigard
Mayor Hu is a food & drug lawyer whose practice focuses on FDA law and regulation. In addition to his work on the City Council, Yi serves on the Tigard Chamber of Commerce’s Diversity and Community Engagement Committee, where he advocates for equity and inclusion in the local business community. Prior to his election to the Council, Yi served on the Tigard Planning Commission, Tigard Transportation Advisory Committee, and Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine.
Born in Taiwan, Yi immigrated to the United States with his family as a child. He and his husband, Abram, have lived in Tigard for 20 years. Outside of his work, Yi enjoys walking and biking around Tigard and exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Before his legal career, Yi worked as a research scientist. He holds a BA in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Reed College, a Ph.D. in the same field from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and a law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School.
Yi’s diverse background and experience have shaped his belief in the importance of creating a city where everyone feels valued and included. As Mayor, he is committed to ensuring Tigard is a place where all community members have the opportunity to thrive and contribute to our growth and success.
Shawn O’Neil | City of Wilsonville
Shawn O’Neil was elected Wilsonville’s 10th mayor in November 2024. An attorney by profession, O’Neil is the Managing Member of O’Neil Law LLC, a firm he established locally in Wilsonville more than a decade ago. His extensive public service includes roles as Deputy District Attorney in Lane and Union Counties, Senior Assistant Attorney General, and Attorney in Charge at the Oregon Department of Justice’s Trial Division’s Civil Litigation Section. O’Neil served under three Attorneys General. Prior to that, he was a partner at the Portland civil litigation firm Mitchel, Lang and Smith.
O’Neil has held positions on several West Linn-Wilsonville School District committees, including the Safety Advisory Committee. He also played a pivotal role as a transitional board member of Wilsonville Community Sharing, helping refine the non-profit’s organizational structure and leadership.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, O’Neil graduated from Boston University with a degree in political science before earning a law degree from Willamette University College of Law. He has made Oregon his home since 1988. A resident of the Rivergreen neighborhood, O’Neil enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, Yumi, also an attorney; their teenage son, Tenzin; and their yellow lab, Curious George, who joins O’Neil on his daily morning walks. O’Neil’s hobbies include camping, fishing, crabbing, biking, and fitness.
Beach Pace | City of Hillsboro
Hillsboro voters elected Mayor Beach Pace in November 2024 to a four-year term. Previously, she was elected as a City Councilor in November 2018 and re-elected in November 2022. Mayor Pace’s term began on January 7, 2025 and will expire in January 2029.
Mayor Pace has lived in Hillsboro since 2012 and has done quite a bit of community service in that time, including:
- Served on the Hillsboro Planning Commission.
- Participating and graduating from the Hillsboro’s Civic Leadership Academy in 2017.
- Volunteering at Jackson Elementary School for six years and leading the annual community-building event “Fall Fest” for five years.
- Writing grants for the Hillsboro School District to bring technology (Google Chromebooks, Apple iPads, and science kits) to the classrooms.
- Volunteering at Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve for a clean-up day.
- Working with Hands On Greater Portland at Brown Middle School.
- Leading volunteer service days at several Hillsboro schools.
- Taking part in the Portland Timbers’ day of service at Dairy Creek Park.
- Volunteering in support of candidates for elected office.
- Serving meals for the Hillsboro Farm-to-Table fundraising event in Downtown Hillsboro.
- Canvassing and presenting in support of the 2017 Hillsboro School District Bond.
Mayor Pace graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and is a U.S. Army veteran. She was stationed in the U.S. and Europe during her time in the military. After her service, she successfully worked in “corporate America” for almost a decade. Since then, she has led social change organizations on the West Coast. In addition to her bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, she also earned a master’s degree in public administration from Northern Michigan University.
Malynda Wenzl | City of Forest Grove
A true Grover, born and raised in the city, Mayor Malynda Wenzl is the first female mayor of the City of Forest Grove. Mayor Wenzl was elected to Council in 2014 then elected Mayor in November of 2022. She attended Harvey Clark Elementary, and Tom McCall Middle School, and graduated from Forest Grove High School. After earning her Master’s in Education from Southern Oregon University, Mayor Wenzl felt it was her responsibility to return home to teach and give back to her community.
Mayor Wenzl began teaching eighth-grade history, health, and leadership classes at Neil Armstrong Middle School. She coached basketball and volleyball, instructing our youth to embody teamwork and tenacity. One day, a student inquired why the city didn’t have a Recreation Center. As a mother of two, Mayor Wenzl was so moved and motivated by this heartfelt question, that she decided to run for City Council. With her love for the community and perseverance to bring people along to get them involved in the city she loves,
Mayor Wenzl enthusiastically dove into her position to learn as much as she could about the community’s vision moving forward. She is excited to collaborate with community members and work both to build and maintain existing city infrastructure; creating systems that remain resilient in challenging times. She is focused on balanced growth while retaining the small-town essence of our city.
Concerned about homelessness, affordable housing, and the local economy. Mayor Wenzl is looking to develop partnerships that will encourage positive community outcomes and plans to focus on strategic growth, moving the vision of the city forward at a pace the community supports. Mayor Wenzl’s goal is to be mindful and intentional in long-term development; encouraging community engagement and collaboration while truly making a difference in the future of Forest Grove.
