Elected Official Speaker bios:

Senator Kate Lieber – Senate District 14

Senator Kate Lieber represents Senate District 14, which includes Beaverton and SW Portland. She also serves as the Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Ways and Means, the budget writing committee of the legislature. She is a mother of two, a breast cancer survivor, a former community college instructor, and attorney. She is deeply invested in improving our communities and understands, as a State Senator, that having power means using it wisely and justly. Senator Lieber is guided by these beliefs and principles in all her work and sees equity as the foundational principle for all she does.

Senator Lisa Reynolds – Senate District 17

Senator Lisa Reynolds, MD, is an Oregon State Senator, a mom, and a pediatrician serving children and families in Washington & Multnomah Counties. She was first elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in 2020, was re-elected in 2022, and was then appointed to the Oregon State Senate in 2024. She serves Senate District 17, which spans from Portland’s Cathedral Park neighborhood through Downtown and Northwest Portland to parts of Beaverton, Hillsboro, Bethany, Cedar Mill, and surrounding neighborhoods. Senator Reynolds is laser-focused on making Oregon the best place to grow up by reducing child poverty, improving infant and maternal health outcomes, combating gun violence, and securing housing and health for every Oregonian child. She serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Early Childhood and Behavioral Health, where she is committed to directing the state towards upstream solutions to socioeconomic inequities. Her pediatric practice grounds her work and informs everything she does in the legislature.

Senator Janeen Sollman – Senate District 15

Janeen Sollman was first elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in 2016 and now serves as the State Senator for Senate District 15, which covers areas of Western Washington County. She currently serves as Assistant Majority Leader of the Senate, Chair of the Senate Energy and Environment Committee and Co-Chair of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Education. Prior to becoming a legislator, Janeen served as a member of the Hillsboro School Board from 2009-2017. For over 26 years, Janeen has worked for Vernier Science Education, an educational scientific technology company based in Beaverton, Oregon.

Representative Susan McLain – House District 29

Rep. McLain is a 5th generation Oregonian, raised on farms in the Willamette Valley. When she was young, Susan got involved in 4-H and raised sheep, swine, and beef cattle with her brothers and sisters. A graduate of Western Oregon University (formerly O.C.E), Susan spent over 40 years teaching and coaching speech and debate in Hillsboro. In 2011, she was honored to receive a Crystal Apple award for outstanding local teachers from the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce. Susan recently received a national award for longevity and excellence as Glencoe High School’s Speech and Debate coach and was also inducted as a Performing Arts nominee into the National High School Hall of Fame. Susan raised her family in Forest Grove, where she still lives today. She decided to run for a position as Metro Regional Government Councilor in 1990. Susan was elected to serve on the Metro Council four terms in a row. She was elected to Oregon’s house of representatives in 2015.

Representative Courtney Neron – House District 26Representative Courtney Neron brings the lens of educator and parent to the State House. She has represented the communities of King City, Sherwood, Wilsonville, and parts of Tigard since 2019. She serves as the K12 Education Committee Chair where she focuses on ensuring policies that serve students across the state of Oregon. She believes in investing in Early Childhood education through post-secondary opportunities with strong connections to workforce needs and Oregon jobs. She works on bringing costs down for Oregonians through her emphasis on School Meals for All, Child Care Costs, Paid Family Medical Leave, Multimodal Transportation opportunities, Preservation of affordable housing inventory and Consumer Protections like Right to Repair. She has a strong focus on reducing environmental toxins, supporting our workforce, and stabilizing adequate school funding structures.

Representative Hai Pham – House District 36

Representative Hai Pham serves as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives for the 36th district, which includes South Hillsboro & West Beaverton. Representative Pham’s history includes working as a dentist at Kaiser Permanente, Providence Health & Services, and the Randall Children’s Hospital. He served as the president of the Washington County Dental Society and Oregon Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. From 2015 to 2019, Pham was a delegate of the American Dental Association. He served on the board of the Dentist Benefits Insurance Company, Pacific University, Oregon Board of Dentistry, and Dental Foundation of Oregon. Pham was elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in November 2022.
